The installation is used for storing and picking low-cost medical devices for replenishment processes.
The warehouse manages 517 references in total. Of these, 431 are stored in the three Vertimag units: Vertimag 1: 128; Vertimag 2: 131; Vertimag 3: 172.
Deenova uses 3 Vertimag Vertical Lift Modules with Ergo-Tech® bays.
Machines: 3 | Total trays: 63 | Tray dimensions: 840 × 4,250 mm | Project storage capacity: up to 211.18 m³ | Footprint: 41.36 m² | Bay: Ergo-Tech®
Vertical storage concentrates inventory while delivering requested items directly to the operator workstation, creating a goods-to-person workflow that reduces walking during picking.
The configuration also includes 2 Eurot vertical carousels as complementary systems for dynamic material handling. Vertimag and Eurot are part of a single warehouse automation architecture designed around the materials and processes to be managed.
A central element of the project is the integration of warehouse automation with ORBIT, Deenova’s software for managing clinical and logistics processes.
Operationally, a replenishment request is generated; ORBIT sends it to the warehouse system; the operator views the requests and starts preparation; the automated system presents the required items; once completed, fulfillment is recorded and communicated through ORBIT to the other IT components involved.
Physical storage automation therefore becomes part of the digital management and traceability process.
Before Ferretto’s solutions were introduced, part of the process was already digital, but medical devices were still picked manually from shelving. Operators had to move between different warehouse areas, while activities were split between two separate and distant warehouses.
The project therefore needed to automate picking, reduce operator travel, optimize space and integrate the warehouse with Deenova’s existing traceability system.
≈ 30% less operator time for replenishment preparation.
431 references managed in the three Vertimag units out of 517 total.
Two warehouses consolidated into one area.
Less walking during picking because materials are delivered to the workstation.
Integrated and traceable flows: ORBIT connects the replenishment request, physical picking activity and transaction recording.
In the video case study, Gianmarco Picone, Customer Operations Engineer at Deenova, explains the previous process, the integration with ORBIT and the results achieved.
