The collaboration between Ferretto and the university world keeps growing. On 30 May, the company was in fact the protagonist of a lecture at the University of Padua.
In particular, Francesco D’Elia, Simone Sitziu and Marco Mirandola – respectively Process Engineers and Operations Manager of Ferretto – intervened as trainers to illustrate the 5S Method and explained the students of the “Production Organization and Logistics Systems” course that is part of the Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering how this “lean” approach is applied every day within the company. In addition to explaining the principles, tools and values of the 5S Method (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain), our colleagues showed how this approach was introduced at Ferretto Group and what benefits it is bringing to the continuous improvement process adopted by the company. The event has been organized in collaboration with Professor Roberto Panizzolo, in the context of the broader relationship between Ferretto and the University of Padua. Specifically, in the last two years alone, four engineering students – both management engineering and mechanical engineering – from the University of Padua have done a curricular internship at the continuous improvement department of the Vicenza-based company.
The lecture took place on Tuesday 30 May at the M3 Engineering complex in Via Colombo in Padua.
