Eurofork among the first companies to adopt the Ferretto’s new automatic vertical storage system.
Technology, innovation, made in Italy: these are the characteristics shared by Eurofork and the Ferretto, both operating in the field of logistics automation. For this reason, it is no coincidence that the Turin-based company was among the first to choose the new Vertimag automatic vertical lift module, a completely updated solution in all its components, able to manage material of any format, weight and size to respond effectively to the needs of various production sectors.
Eurofork is a manufacturer of automatic handling systems and recently celebrated its 20 years on the market. In addition to the Telescopic Forks division, the company has two other divisions: the Service division for after-sales assistance, maintenance, and spare parts and the ESMARTSHUTTLE® division specialized in the design and manufacture of shuttle systems for multi-depth automatic storage systems.
Since its establishment, Eurofork has been committed to guaranteeing highly innovative standards in material handling automation, providing its national and international customers with functional, beautiful and well-made products.
Eurofork wanted to install a state-of-the-art automated storage system in its new production site in the province of Turin. Thus they chose Ferretto and the Vertimag automatic vertical storage system for the storage of all the components of their finished products.
“The move to automation was a necessary step” says Ivano Allasino, Eurofork Logistics Manager. “In recent years the company has grown significantly. We had problems with space, traceability of materials, and inventory management. The reorganization and the optimization of the processes were therefore indispensable”.
In the past, Eurofork stored the goods on the ground and on traditional shelves.
The use of vertical storage systems has added great versatility in the storage activities, allowing the company to manage materials of various weights and sizes in an orderly, precise and safe way.
Thanks to the numerous accessories provided, picking and placing activities are much faster and simpler.
The laser pointer allows the operator to easily identify the goods to be handled, increasing speed and reducing picking errors, while the bar code reader facilitates the safe and precise picking and placing of products. Thanks to the sliding console, the operator can move the control station across the front of the entire bay and speed up picking and placing activities.
The investment in technological innovation and the automation of processes made possible by the Vertimag system have proven to be a strategic element in achieving the company’s objectives. Thanks also to Ferretto storage systems, Eurofork continues to offer its customers increasingly innovative, functional and well-made products.
