Its drive for continuous improvement has led DENSO Thermal Systems to reorganise the spaces and processes of the Aftermarket Business Unit. The company, which already had two Vertimag units, thus decided to add two more Ferretto Spa automatic vertical storage systems to manage the storage of all spare parts and accessories for cars. In addition to the advantages guaranteed by automation and by the vertical extension of this solution, the Ergo-Tech Bay provided for both storage systems represents a further innovation for the Turin-based company: this exclusive Ferretto Spa equipment simplifies work during order preparation, ensuring perfect ergonomics even during intense picking.
In order to reduce errors and make order preparation easier for operators, the storage systems are equipped with an alphanumeric LED bar and a laser pointer. In this way, guided by the light indications, the staff in charge of shipping spare parts to customers can now identify exactly the required items and the corresponding quantities to be picked. Thanks to the sliding console, the PC is always within reach of the operator, who thus finds picking much easier. These accessories thus make it possible to eliminate errors, to speed up the processing of lists and to guarantee precise and just-in-time customer service.
The vertical extension of the Vertimag storage systems is also an important advantage in terms of space organisation. DENSO Thermal Systems has in fact optimized the use of space: by exploiting the available height, the storage systems provide a useful storage area of 200 square metres while occupying only 19 square metres of floor space.
